ABOUT ME
My name is Nara Nguyen. I am a student of Curtin University, majoring in marketing and asian studies.
I grew up in the small, yet extremely lively, city of Hanoi, Vietnam. I moved to Perth, Western Australia, at the age of 5. Having moved countries at a young age, I became infatuated with capturing the different cultures and landscapes of countries that I am able to travel to.
I found that the beauty of different countries can be can captured behind a lens no matter the difference in culture. Travel photography became my outlet in terms of mental remedial, and later on became a professional outlet to both create and share with the world.

EXPERIENCE
I have been working at multiple marketing firms as a professional photographer and editor after the completion of my secondary studies. My photography style ranges from basic editorials to creative contents. During my time working for SageFlicks, I became familiar with using editorial programs such as Adobe Premier Pro, Indesign and many others. SageFlicks often focused on marketing for the fashion industry, and therefore, many of the work produced by me included fashion editorials and modelling photoshoots. After working with Sage Flicks for one year, I then moved on to work for BlackLotusAU. This marketing agency focuses on events and concerts, which allowed me to work closely to artists such as Nelly, Kehlani and Harry Styles, and many others. Throughout my previous and current workplaces, I was able to build my network around a variety of creative individuals.
EDUCATION
Morley Senior High School (2015 - 2020), Perth WA
I studied at Morley Senior High for the entire duration of high school (i.e year 7 to 12). Throughout the years of secondary studies, I was involved with Morley’s multi-media specialist program, in which I became accustomed to the usage of cameras and editing programs. The program also provided internships for media related industries as students were given access to networks such as 7News and PerthNow.
University of WA (2020 - 2020), Perth WA
During the final year of my secondary studies, I was given the opportunity to be admitted to UWA’s Fairway program, in which I was provided with further access to digital equipments. The program prolonged throughout my year 12 studies and provided me with a scholarship for studies in chemical engineering.
Curtin University (2021 - Present), Perth WA
I am now studying my third year undergraduate degree, majoring in marketing and asian studies at Curtin University. After my first two years of asian studies, I found a passion in asian cultural arts and found myself travelling to several asian countries while continuing my hobby of photography. Through photography, I was able to visibly capture the beauty of asian culture in different geographical locations.
