I travelled in Vietnam for a duration of two months, from October to November, 2022. During my trip, I was able to take in the beauty of the country, and the different aesthetics that differed between each city, whether it was Hanoi, Saigon or Nha Trang, to name a few.
I started off my trip in my hometown, and the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi.
Although it was as lively as ever, the expansion of infrastructure has changed the image of the entire city. The once lively markets that once surrounded the river of Hai Ba Chung, has now been reconstructed into an area for new apartment buildings. These constructions, however, could not take away the beauty of the side streets that surrounded them, which can be seen from the photo above.

I then took a three hour long drive to the beautiful Ha Long Bay, and visited the islands that surrounded it. The mountain peeks of Ha Long is indeed the filming set of the Hollywood film; Kong Skull Island. Seeing these peaks in real life gave me an insight on how beautiful the natural scape was without the after film production editing.
Whilst travelling by boat and paddle around the landscape the locals shared their concerns about how a large area of Ha Long has now been claimed by UNESCO. This meant that many family owned touring businesses were no longer allowed to operate, which has caused a risen in unemployment for the locals in the area.
